Dear Parents,

We are excited to welcome you to the 2025-2026 school year.  Lake Whitney is a wonderful school, largely due to the great working relationship between our teachers, staff, parents and community. The Dolphin Education Fund was established in January of 2011 with the main focus of closing the educational funding gap.  The Board of Directors is composed of parents, administrators, teachers and community members.  Since the DEF’s establishment, we have been able to upgrade classroom/school technology, assist PTO with the acquisition of three playground shade structures, and enhance special area programs.

The Dolphin Education Fund was excited to partner with the Boosterthon team for this new large dollar fundraiser, the Dolphin Fun Run the past few years.  This fundraiser was very important to Lake Whitney as it helps provide additional support for students and teachers.   It also included the students in a character building program. The program spans over two weeks, where we start with a Pep Rally and ends with the Fun Run.  In between, the students were able to participate in activities that incorporate S.T.E.A.M. skills, while learning important character traits:  teamwork, integrity, citizenship and growth mindset.

Please remember that it’s never too late to donate.  You can make your donation online at Foundation for OCPS, click on “Donors” on the right side of the page, then select “Support a School”, and scroll down and click on “Lake Whitney” to enter your information.   Checks can be made out to the Foundation for OCPS, with Dolphin Fund noted on the comment line.

As always, we would like to thank you for your continued support of Lake Whitney Elementary School and the Dolphin Education Fund.
